Volunteer Opportunities

St. James Regional recognizes the vital role volunteers have in creating a vibrant school community and values the time our families commit. The following opportunities are available. Check back often for additonal opportunities.

1) Lunch Monitors- Adults who help supervise the students during recess.

2) Home & School Events & Classroom help- Our Home & School is always looking for active volunteers to assist in coordinating and executing various events thoughout the year. For more information, please contact the school office.

3.) Class Trips- Any parent interested in attending a class trip will need the appropriate clearances.

Please remember all volunteers must complete their required clearances and trainings as detailed below.
Safe Environment
In an effort to create a safe and caring place to learn and grow, Archdiocesan policy requires that anyone wishing to volunteer at St. James Regional Catholic School must have: 1) the required security clearances; and 2) have completed all the necessary Safe Environment trainings. In order to be considered “active” in service to our school, your documentation must be current. Please return the information needed to Mrs. Kristen Kilman, our Safe Environment Coordinator, at the school office as soon as possible in order for you to continue your service to St. James Regional Catholic School. Before volunteering, please complete these 6 steps:

Step 1: Criminal Record Check- (valid for 5 years). This form goes directly to the PA State Police. You can submit electronically and obtain immediate results, but you must print out the certificate and submit to the school office. To complete online visit this site:

Step 2: Child Abuse Clearance- (valid for 5 years). This form is completed by you at this site:

Step 3: Federal Criminal History Background Check
- FBI Fingerprint Clearance for a volunteer who has been a PA resident for less than 10 years. If you are volunteering in the school and haven't been a PA resident for 10 consecutive years Click Here and use the volunteer service code 1KG6Y3 (School Employees please use code 1KG6XN)
- OR
- A signed Disclosure Form signed by a volunteer who has been a PA resident for the entire last 10 Years and has not committed designated crimes in Pennsylvania or elsewhere. This form is available in the school office or can be downloaded by clicking the box below. Please sign and return to Mrs. Kilman in the school office.

Step 4: Mandated Reporter Acknowledgement Form- This form may be obtained through the school office or can be downloaded by clicking the box below. Please review the mandated reporter information sheet, sign the acknowledgment form, and return to the school office.

Step 5: Attend Safe Environment Part 1 ("Protecting God's Children for Adults")
- This training provides basic facts about child sexual abuse and adults’ roles in prevention. This training is held either in-person throughout the Archdiocese or virtually. The available training dates and registration can be found

STEP 6: Attend Safe Environment Part 2 ("Mandated Reporting Session")
