Seven St. James students were recognized for their winning essays in the American Legion Americanism Essay Contest. Each year thousands of students participate in this contest aimed at promoting lifelong patriotism. The topic for the 2024 contest was: "What does freedom mean to you?" Of the nine possible winners of the contest at the local level, St. James students claimed seven spots! Congratulations to the following students: Class 1: 1st Place, Matthew Toland; 2nd Place, Colton Borak; 3rd Place, Bryce Hospedales. Class 2: 1st Place, David Bradley. Class 3: 1st Place, Jillian Bissinger; 2nd Place, Marie Tagliavia; 3rd Place, Sophia Moyer.
