Today we are recognizing a teaching veteran, Mr. James Kane. Mr. Kane has been teaching for 37 years, and has been with St. James Regional Catholic School for the last eight years. 

Mr. Kane is our 6th grade homeroom teacher, and teaches science to our middle schoolers. Over his vast career, Mr. Kane has taught various subjects to various grades. He attended St. Joseph’s University, where he earned a B.S. in Sociology. He later attended Villanova University, earning an M.A. in Education. 

Mr. Kane understands the role a Catholic education can play in a young person’s life, and works with his colleagues to develop STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts and Math) lesson plans to ensure a well-rounded education. Our curriculum is rooted in our Catholic faith making it present across each subject. 

Outside of the classroom, Mr. Kane is the faculty liaison to the Home and School Association, and also monitors the Peer Study Group. He is an advocate for persons with disabilities, enjoys reading, and describes himself as persevering, loyal and an idealist. 

His favorite thing about St. James is “the kids, their families and the faculty and staff of our school community!”
