Today we are celebrating Miss Monica Boyle, a 2nd-grade teacher here at St. James Regional Catholic School! This is actually her first year teaching 2nd grade, but her 4th year with St. James! She taught 3rd grade her first three years here.
Prior to joining our family, Miss Boyle attended Loyola University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with minors in Special Education and Math. She also received her Master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Teacher Leadership from Villanova University.
Miss Boyle likes to make her classroom an open and accepting space that allows students to learn, ask questions, challenge themselves and have fun! Outside of the classroom, she serves on the Sunshine Club. This club at St. James is dedicated to planning events like birthdays, holidays and other special occasions that call for celebration. She also serves on our Catholic Schools Week committee, helping plan events throughout the annual weeklong ode to Catholic education.
In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading and traveling to new places.
“I love traveling to new places, so my travel wishlist is quite a long one,” she said. I would love to visit Ireland and Switzerland. The natural beauty of both countries would be amazing to experience!”
When asked about the St. James community, she had this to say:
“One thing I admire about St. James is our supportive community. It does indeed "take a village" to provide quality education to each child. You will always find the help you need, whether it is from administration, office staff, governing pastors, teachers, aides, maintenance staff, DCIU staff, families, or students. The St. James community has helped me so much over the past four years. So thank you for helping me become the teacher I am today!”
