This week will take some time to highlight our lovely Pre-K 4 teacher Mrs. Sarah Markley. She has taught our St. James Regional Catholic pre-kindergarten class for the last six years, and has managed the St. James Campus Store for the last nine years.
Mrs. Markley received a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Neumann University, as well as a Master’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Cabrini University. She previously taught at St. Anastasia School for five years, but took a break to raise her four children.
Mrs. Markley and her husband are both very active members of St. Madeline’s Church (one of the parishes that make up our St. James community). Her Catholic faith is very important to her, both in her personal life and in the classroom. In fact, Mrs. Markley would choose to meet Our Blessed Mother, Mary, if she could meet anyone, living or dead.
In her free time, Mrs. Markley loves watching Hallmark movies with her daughters. One day, she hopes to return to Assisi, Italy. She traveled to Italy about five years ago as her daughter had the opportunity to sing for Pope Francis. She finds this region of Italy “a beautiful, peaceful place that is so rich in history.”
At St. James Regional Catholic School is the people. From faculty, to staff, to families and her students, everyone that makes up our St. James community makes it such a special place to be.
“I am lucky to work with an amazing group of peers and parents,” Mrs. Markley said on the topic. “I love spending my days with the littlest bulldogs who can always make me smile. I also love to see how much my former students have grown. I am a proud mom of four St. James graduates.”
