Today we take a moment to recognize our kind-hearted Pre-K aide Mrs. Kathy Schatzman. Mrs. Schatzman has been with the St. James Regional Catholic School family since we opened in 2012.
Mrs. Schatzman comes to this position with a varied background. She is a licensed hairstylist, and used to own a deli. While these endeavors are quite different from working in a classroom with preschool aged children, they do help build certain skills, like patience and working with others.
Mrs. Schatzman is a big fan of the British Baking Challenge television show. She hopes to one day travel to Italy with her daughter, Emily. They have always been eager to learn more about the culture and try authentic, delicious Italian food.
This summer, after nearly a year without seeing each other, Mrs. Schatzman is looking forward to spending some quality time with her sister.
At St. James, Mrs. Schatzman’s favorite aspect is the students, faculty and staff. She also commends Principal Cerabino for her tireless, hard work this past year.
As for her favorite moments each school year, Mrs. Schatzman places it on the first day of the year.
“My most memorable Saint James moment happens every year on the first day of school for the Pre K students. Opening the door for them, and seeing the smiles on their faces are what makes my year.”
